“History will record what HRH the Crown Prince's Program is doing for sustaining the best assets Bahrain has, it's people.”
Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery Chief Executive Officer, Bapco Refining
The Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program (CPISP) was established in 1999 by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister. The Program is funded privately by HRH Prince Salman and various local and international sponsoring organizations and individuals who share HRH’s vision of providing exceptional young Bahrainis with the necessary resources to excel and achieve their goals and contribute to the development of a modern Bahraini state.
Merit Based Scholarships
Every year, ten fully funded university scholarships are granted to talented individuals from both public and private secondary schools, based on their academic achievements. The selection process includes considering SAT and IELTS scores, Grade Point Average (GPA), and the results of training programs organized by the CPISP.
Students from Ministry of Education schools are placed in boarding schools for a period of two years, where they earn either an American High School Diploma or complete their A-Levels, before applying to university.
Since its establishment, more than 244 of Bahrain’s most brilliant high school graduates have been chosen to pursue higher education degrees at prestigious international universities around the globe.
In May 2023, as per the command of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program (CPISP) declared that it will incorporate a maximum of ten more scholarship recipients annually.
The selection of these additional recipients will be determined by their final audited score in the ongoing recipient selection procedure, applicable to both male and female students studying in public and private schools, who attain a score of 90% or higher.
Aims
The Program gives its scholars training and a strong international educational foundation, as well as continuous opportunities to gain work experience and exposure to different cultures.
